Erik Showacy is a proud Co-Founder of Film Vandals; a small production group based out of Seattle, WA. He entered the PNW film and media industry shortly after graduation from Central Washington University in 2010. With a degree in Studio Production, a variety of award-winning skills, and over a decade of experience, Erik is at home in the writer's room, director's chair, edit bay, and everywhere in between.
Director and Editor Reels
Every film that I have directed has brought home at least one accolade, often multiple. All of these short films are for 48hr contests. Each team is provided random requirements at 7pm on Friday, they have until Sunday to write, shoot, edit and turn in a 5-7 min short film.

Harbor Studio 48hr Film Project

2023 - Directed 'One More Note'
In an effort to highlight Harbor Island Studio's facilities, three teams were invited to participate in a 48hr film contest. One More Note was the only production to wrap on schedule and deliver a final edit within the 48hr time limit.
Screened on 6/29 + overflow on 6/30. Originally slated for a 250 person audience, was expanded to 1200+.

Accepted to Filmapalooza (2022)
The Yes We Cannes 48hr contest was extended to those who had placed 1st, 2nd, or 3rd, during any 2022 48hr contest. Film Vandals' had placed in both the Summer and Fall contests, their winter submission to the global contest was one of fifteen accepted to Filmapalooza. Over one-hundred films were submitted.

The 'Yes We Cannes 48hr Film Project' was offered to those who had placed 1st, 2nd, or 3rd, during any 2022 48hr contest. Film Vandals' had placed in both the Summer and Fall contests, their winter submission to the global contest was one of fifteen accepted to Filmapalooza. Over one-hundred films were submitted.
